xx/xx/70If I Could Only Remember My Name: The Alternate Album, Definitive 2008 edition, Wally Heider's Studio, San Francisco
late 1970, excellent quality, the recording details in the enclosed artwork., in the history of bootleg collecting rarely a single set of tapes, aroused so many speculations and undivided interest during, very long period of time as it was in the case of the recordings, od david crosby during and after recording of his solo album, if i could only remember my name, commonly called perro, tapes., it all started in 1991 with 120 minutes perro dat tape that, paul kantner made from the original tapes that were in the, possession of graham nash and at the same time c-90 cassette, with, presumably at the time, if i could only remember my, name outtakes started to circulate. later, the set of three c-90, cassettes was labeled, perro tapes, although a lot of materials, were instantly recognised as david and the dorks matrix tapes, and so called hart jam. in 1997, the first set of four cd-rs, included the most of non-perro tracks from the mentioned, cassettes. a year later, double cdr, if i could only remember, the outtakes, joint venture of a dutch collector and eastern, european collector started making turns in the trades among, the collectors of crosby and company. although often blamed, as the set of outfakes it was widely circulated for a long time., the first true reference set of perro discs showed up in 2001, and it was consisted of 2 cdr named, perro: the stephen, barncard rough mixes, and 2 cdr named, the perro, supplement: a collection of perro-related tracks, the first, two discs consisted of the complete legendary perro dat, recording in the best quality., the first, new, recordings started to circulate in 2007 with, the compilation of iicormn and perro tracks in the superior, quality than ever before. the bootleg was called, everybody, here can be in the band, but on the torrent sites it was called, david crosby sessions, or, iicormn - the sessions, . later in, the year, three sets of tracks started to circulate under titles:, acoustic, electric, and residue, all in similar superior, quality. some of the tracks were of suspicious origin, but the, improvement in quality was obvious., the set in your hands is the best quality and the most complete, collection of genuine iiormn outtakes and the best quality, versions of perro tracks. all outfakes were disregarded, same, as the tracks that were not the integral part of david crosby, sessions, such was jefferson airplane bark session that was, included in perro supplement., until something new would show up, i hope that this could serve, as true reference of magnificent david crosby sessions, from 1970-1971., pr, january 2008; 1. Music Is Love - no conga overdubs, 2. Cowboy Movie - instrumental, no Garcia overdubs, 3. Cowboy Movie - rough mix, the longest version, 4. Tamalpais High (At About 3) - "full blown" version, 5. Laughing - rough mix, 6. What Are Their Names - rough mono mix, 7. Traction In The Rain - alternate mix, 8. Song With No Words - short version aka demo version, mono, 9. Orleans - alternate stereo mix, 10. I'd Swear There Was Somebody Here - rough mix, 11. xx/xx/70Jerrities Vol 1
my shn was create using eac from trade cdrs from the person circulating this on budd;, a 79+ minute cd compiling several rare 1970 fm broadcasts, featuring jerry garcia and various friends (including duane allman!), plus as, filler, a one-off appearance of garcia sitting in with the nitty gritty dirt band, in 1974. most of this material doesn't seem to circulate much and is e xtremely difficult to find in reasonably good quality, which it is here, with the, 1970 ksan material here in excellent quality. with the exception of the 1974, material, these recordings were sourced from alan bershaw s 7 inch reel, copies@7.5ips, transfered to dat@44.1k and then to cdr. there may be better copies out, there, but these are a big improvement over any i've ever heard of this, particular material. alan came up with the jerrities title as a morph of, jerry+rarities --get it? here is the tracklist:; source info:, the 1970 recordings transfered from alan bershaw s 7 inch reels@7.5ips, fm->?->reels@7.5ips->dat@44.1k->cdr->cdr, the 1974 recording comes from a soundboard cassette of unknown geneology,; very good to excellent sound; Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, John Cipollina & Bill Champlin, Pacific High Recorders, San Francisco, CA, transmitted live over KSAN FM in 1970 (exact date unknown), 1 The Race Is On, 2 Silver Threads & Golden Needles, 3 Let Me In 83968, 4 Dark Hollow, Jerry Garcia - pedal steel, Bob Weir - guitar, vocals, John Cipollina - guitar, Bill Champlin - piano, ------, Jerry Garcia, Duane Allman & Bob Wier, WBCN FM Studios, Boston, MA, Saturday afternoon, November 21, 1970, 5 El Paso, 6 -tuning/talking-, 7 Big River, 8 I Know You Rider, 9 -tuning/talking-, 10 Instrumental, 11 -tuning/talking-, 12 Dark Hollow, 13 -tuning/talking-, 14 Angie*, 15 -tuning/talking-, 16 Let Me In 83968**, -outro..., All songs Jerry Garcia & Bob Weir except:, *Duane Allman solo, **Bob Weir & Duane Allman, Pigpen & Gregg Allman are there too but they don't play., ------, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, David Nelson & John Dawson, Sunday String Quartet @ KPPC, Pasadena, CA, Sunday morning, December 28, 1970, 17 -intro/tuning/talking-, 18 Silver Threads & Golden Needles, 19 -tuning/talking-, 20 Cold Jordon, 21 -tuning/talking-, 22 A Voice From On High, 23 Swing Low Sweet Chariot, 24 -talking/promo for El Monte Dead show/Salty Dog outro..., Jerry Garcia - guitar, vocals, Bob Weir - guitar, vocals, David Nelson- mandolin, vocals, John Dawson - guitar, vocals, ------, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, w/ Jerry Garcia, Frank Wakefield & Vassar Clements, Golden State Bluegrass Festival, San Rafael,CA, April 27, 1974, 25 Heartbreak Hotel*, 26 Orange Blossom Special*, 27 Jambalaya**, 28 Sally Goodin'**, 29 Battle Of New Orleans**, *Jerry Garcia on banjo, Frank Wakefield on mandolin, Vassar Clements on fiddle, ** Jerry Garcia on telecaster! B+has same digital flaws as downloaded jerrities vol1 and is a close eac match on d1t2; this is more muffled with more hiss than berger 4/28/74 comp on heartbreak hotelanalog drops in sound level d1t5 1:30, 2:30, d1t7 0:39, 1:55; d1t8 5:46; d1t12 0:25 plus more on this track; discontinuity between d1t7 and d1t8 gives small pop;***
