& larry klein, circa '78 mystery tape, venue unknown, source: sbd cassette, jerry moore's copy, lineage: sbd>?>cassette (see notes), nak dragon>hd-p2 24/96>cd wave>adobe audition 2.0 16/44.1>flac, transferred & seeded by rob berger 11/27/09, one disc: 39:53, 01 - mountains of the moon, 02 - talking money tree, 03 - friend of the devil, 04 - china cat sunflower, 05 - rum runners, 06 - ballad of buddy holly, 07 - what's become of the baby, 08 - lady of carlisle>, 09 - terrapin station>, 10 - jack o' roses, notes: another choice nugget from the collection of jerry moore. this tape was labeled simply "hunter demo". the only, information that we could come up with is that this tape was, sent by hunter's management to venues/promoters to advance, gigs in 1978. it would seem that all tracks are from the same show - whatever it is, it's a good soundboard of a great set., guessed lineage is sbd reel master>cassette>cassette., hunter1978-xx-xxd1t01.flac:122924A  ***

a lot of them. some insight here & we could wish for more, but there isn't much directly from this era with hunter talkin' in person. it's a funny interview for him at the time as he's trying to get back on his feet as a name apart from the dead (& with his band comfort not playing many songs the dead did of his live), but he's caught in his dead-connection fame. it's completely intertwined in his life & the dj sets up the interview to mostly go thru dead lps, having him mention something about a number of the more well-known dead tunes. pretty cool but at almist every point i wish he would go further into it. too much in too little time eve tho' there's more than ah hour of talkin'. at the time the interview would have seemed lacking a bit for how little hunter talks about his own material & comfort. but in those days i would have been equally fascinated by the dead info. these days, it seems absolutely sad that more isn't about hunter's "non-dead" material & comfort themselves... on the road with an 8 piece band playing clubs - fine times & they were playing outstanding, energetic music. listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. yers truly, knees, omitted track 36 - audio transcription ::: 25 seconds of with "terrapin station" album track in background while dj talks. denis mcnamara, "that's clearly(?) an awful lot of music and there's no denying your contribution has been immense to the type of music that i personally play on the radio & a lot of people have been effected by over the last 10 years. what does it do to you as you approach a career of your own going out & doing some touring now?", support the artist!, do whatever you want with it except sell it, 'cause that ain't cool! C  ***

Late Show: SBD > Rm > CD > WaveLab > Flac by Jerry Moore77228A-sound quality is mainly A but at end of t17 starts to get scratchy ~(a bittorrent from 02/13 at losslesslegs was a bad cdrip of this with additional flaws; it was a close eac match on the first track to shnid 77228, it has all the same digital flaws which are occasional digi-pops starting at t13 plus an extra drop at t15 1:32; described in info file as "{late show}, SBD > ? > ? > CD >" and " I've had this disc I burned some time ago, do not recall the source of this performance but, when I saw it had never been seeded here, I had to do what?s right. It is just too good not to share. Enjoy!, Ripped with iTunes to .aiff / FLAC via xAct 2.21")digipop t17 4:05***
